Images of Oklahoma

In this collage we wanted to bring out the rustic Oklahoma that we all know. Tans, browns, reds and earthy tones helped us express that feeling. The layering effect also helped us achieve the fact that Oklahoma is like a puzzle, made up of different landscapes, people, and cultures.

In our part of the state, we are all about farming and ranching. Being a part of that is very special. We are the last of a dying breed, although Oklahoma is ranked second in the nation for agriculture farming.

The leather and rope idea was to represent the rodeo that is always going on at the Capital between Democrats and Republicans. In the middle of the board you find the state of Oklahoma with pictures of the state and it's beauty. The hawk on the board shows how we soar. Images of the wilderness let us know there is still spectacular views and uninhabited Oklahoma that most people can't get enough of.

We spent hours and hours looking for pictures that represented the great state of Oklahoma. From Arbuckle Wilderness to the Wildlife Refuge. Putting detail into the pictures was a key role. We spent many hours working on the leather. It was difficult cutting and pasting the pieces on the board.

So with all this work we're pretty worn out. Just kidding, but we did work quite hard. Our school sent in 9 collages. That's a lot of paint, Mod Podge, time, and room! We had about 30 people working in one art room at sometimes. Our collage is probably one of the most different ones you will find this year. We put a lot of time and effort into this project and we hope you realize that, we're sure you do. We hope you like our collage as much as we did. We really think it is unique and brilliant.

Thank you.
