An absorbing landscape of sounds, memories and events, music is many things to many people. Country music has played an important role in Oklahoma. Often ignored, it tells of struggles and triumphs, the saddest, the happiest, the most touching moments in our lives.
From friend to neighbor, to those that have forged the way and to those that will bring us into the future, we have learned that time is something to be treasured.
Let us increase our awareness and enjoyment of the world around us. Everyone encounters new trees and plants, birds, animals and insects; rivers, streams and mountain tops covered with forests of hickory, oak and pine. If only we will stop to look at them - to remember what we have learned. We simply need that country available to us, even if we never do more than drive through it or hear it softly played in the background. For it can be a means of reassuring ourselves of our sanity.
